Nizhnekamsk to get ramps made of recycled plastics

Four BottleBank fandomats have been placed in educational institutions in Nizhnekamsk. The collected plastic will be used to create ramps for the city's mobility-challenged citizens. The project is being implemented by EcoTechnologies with the support of SIBUR's social investment program, Formula of Good Deeds.
The fandomats are located in four educational institutions: Nizhnekamsk Chemical Technology Institute, Lyceum-Boarding School No. 24, Polylingual Gymnasium Adymnar, and the Children's Ecological-Biological Center. They accept plastic bottles for beverages up to two liters with the PET label, as well as bottles for household chemicals with the HDPE label. The collected materials will be used to make ramps from a polymer-sand composite with added recycled plastics. The collection of materials will continue throughout the coming school year.

In Nizhnekamsk, the fandomats will be operated by Bottle Bank, one of the largest networks in Russia, with 200 fandomats in 18 regions.

Points called BottleCoins are awarded for bringing in recyclable materials and can be exchanged for various offers (discounts, bonuses, promotions) from loyalty program partners, including Synergetic, Lingualeo, and others. Local partners in Nizhnekamsk have also joined BottleCoin, such as the English language studio Hello Yellow (offering two group sessions for 60 points) and the Tykva anti-cafe (30 minutes of rental for 10 points). One point is equivalent to one recycled bottle. Points can be exchanged on the website after logging into a personal account.
‘This project continues SIBUR's initiatives aimed at developing waste separation infrastructure in Nizhnekamsk and popularizing environmentally friendly habits. Previously, with the support of the company, eight fandomats were already installed in local schools. The location of these installations is not accidental - we want to engage young people, children, and their parents in plastic waste separation. In addition, the new project gives Nizhnekamsk residents the opportunity not only to contribute to environmental conservation and enable secondary plastic to become a valuable resource but also to participate in the development of an inclusive environment in the city,’ - commented Elena Snezhko, the head of the Formula of Good Deeds program.
SIBUR's social investment program, Formula of Good Deeds, was launched on February 1, 2016, in all the key cities of the company's operation. It covers seven areas that encompass the most critical public spheres: urban development, education and science, sports and a healthy lifestyle, environmental protection, culture, inclusion, and volunteering. Detailed information about the program is available at https://www.formula-hd.ru/.

EcoTechnologies implements innovative eco-projects for businesses and is part of the EcoPartners group of companies, which promotes the closed loop economy in Russia and includes the Tver Polymers Recycling Plant (TPRP) for waste processing, the RzhevMash plant for manufacturing waste sorting equipment, EcoTechnologies, and the Bottle Bank fandomat network.
