"Vedomosti" has published an article about solving the problems of the processing industry in the country. Konstantin Rzaev, founder and managing partner of EcoPartners Group of Companies, commented on the reasons for insufficient investment in the industry.
"Objectively low tariffs and at the same time weak financing of the industry by the state make the investment attractiveness of the industry weak. Complicated and lengthy licensing procedures, high interest rates, especially for long payback projects in the field of waste management, have an impact".
Other factors cited were the existence of a black market for recyclable materials and low production of local equipment for sorting and recycling.
